Update December 10 2006 ~ Just wanted to drop you guys a line to
let you know how everything is going with all the babies and us. What a
whirlwind year it has been, but it has been fun. Trystan is just starting to
walk right before her first birthday just like Cole did... The dogs are great,
can hardly seem to leave each other alone even long enough to eat their food or
do their business. Ember has now advanced to the foundation agility class which
she is excelling at...she loves the tunnels. The weave poles are not her
favourite, but she is really improving every week. Odin just started his puppy
classes with Mike last week, and of course he (not Mike) is already an "A"
student.
October 2006 update ~ I wanted to thank you for Embers
web page...its awesome and the dedication to Koko brought tears to my eyes. I am
sending you some pics of Ember from the off leash park today. It was
gorgeous in the trees!! Ember also got to taste test some Certified Angus this
weekend. After we vaccinated the calves, we let her around the cows and calves
before we let them back out. She was really good, watching them intently and
going at them through the fence when they would shake their heads at her. Then
she ran behind them as they went back out to pasture...then Mike said to her as
she is coming back "Did you forget someone?" (the bull 'Dakota' was
lagging behind). Ember was like 'What the heck?' and jeeze if she didn't
put the run on him all the way out there grabbin' his thighs the whole way...to
say she is savvy with the stock is an understatement!
July 07, 2006 update ~ Just wanted to let you know how Ember is
doing...she is a perfect fit to our family...she is very sweet and really quite
a bit mor elaid back than Koko ever was as a puppy which is good with having two
small kids. Koko is still a B-I-T-C-H but getting better. We took Ember camping
with us to the lake for the Canada day long weekend...she loved it. While we
were there we took Koko down to the water and had Ember on a leash. As soon as
Koko went in after a stick, Ember jumped in as well and has absolutely no fear
of water.
I've been clicker training her and she sits, lies down, and comes
more than 50% of the time so that's a start. She was out at the farm on a lunge
line and got to meet the calves which she is cautious of but extremely
interested in. Dr. Barton loved her.
Anyway things are super and we are so happy!!
