Below is some general information about herding "classes", trials and
instinct testing... Instinct Testing: this is for people who don't want to enter their dog in an actual
class but want to test the instinct of the dog to work. This 5 minutes test is a quick way
to evaluate if the dog shows instinct. The cost for the test varies from club to club.
Classes & Clinics: clinics normally last the whole day, sometimes two days
and classes are usually about an hour! In a clinic the dog will
work sheep a few times, while the judges teach the technique to all participants. The
price for classes & clinics varies depending on the club or trainer.
