Mickey has gone to a very special "forever"
home...she now lives in Edmonton, Alberta with Lorne & Ann and she keeps Lorne
from becoming too desk bound as he works at home!Mickey provides him with
an excuse to get away from his desk for some play time during the day!
Update December 2008:
Mickey is still the same old same old nutcase. She really keeps
me active and that is a good thing. Ball crazy as ever, still a
Frisbee champion! I really don’t know where she gets all that
energy, oh that’s right she is an aussie! We cannot help but
laugh and smile at all the funny things she does, it is such a
joy and privilege to have a girl like Mickey. She seems to be
asserting herself a little more now. In the past in the evening
she would sleep in our bathroom in our bedroom for the night.
Well one day that changed, she was not going to do that anymore,
we came into the bedroom and she was under the bed and would not
come out. Well that is fine, sleeping a little closer to us, no
big deal. Well that lasted for about a week. Now she still
crawls under the bed before we go to bed but after we come to
bed she waits about 10 minutes and then crawls out and makes
herself at home on top of the bed with us. She snuggles
in-between us sometimes or on one side or the other of us
depending on her mood.
Then there are the times on
the weekends if we somehow manage to sleep to long (past 6:00
a.m.) she will go nuts and start running around the bedroom, up
and over the bed and around the room again, over the bed at
about 15 km an hour. What a nut!
Anyway that’s a few words from
our Aussie nuthouse, nothing compared to yours I am sure. You
all take care and enjoy the winter season we are about to embark
upon.
Update 2007: Mickey is one of the most agile
little dogs I've seen in a long time and loved to play with Tuffy and Mael Duin
before she went and apparently she's still the same! She plays ball (any
kind of ball, any size) and frisbee, and she showed a lot of natural instinct
and ability working ducks! She is also a real cuddle-bug, loving to give
hugs and kisses to anyone who'll stop and talk to her! She loves children
and seems to like most people she meets.
